Robert E. Cohen, PsyD, ABPP is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in assessing and diagnosing patients suffering from a variety of neurological disorders (both acquired and congenital) and evaluating the impact and severity of traumatic brain injuries. He is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Rehabilitation Psychology. Dr. Cohen is Director of Neuropsychology at Compass Research. He is a consultant to NFL retired players association and the 2015 Orlando City Soccer team establishing preseason cognitive baseline and during-season concussion return to play. He was the founder and director of Orlando Health Neuropsychology Consultants for 10 years and he provided clinical direction and program development for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center (BIRC) and outpatient neuropsychology. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh, he received his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a focus on behavioral medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Cohen completed a clinical internship at the North Chicago Veterans Hospital focusing on evaluating and treating post-traumatic brain injury. He completed his residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Racine, Wisconsin working on an inpatient brain injury rehabilitation program. Prior to joining Compass Research, he worked with a neurological and neurosurgical group conducting comprehensive dementia assessments, pre-surgical psychological assessments, and the evaluation and treatment of psychological and neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Cohen is also a member of the Florida Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. An expert in his field, Dr. Cohen is a regular speaker in the community and medical advisor for Share the Care.
